          For travellers, there are  two quadrivalent vaccines available, “polysaccharide” and “conjugate”– (they protect aginst four strains, A, C, W and Y): .

          WHAT CONDITIONS ARE COVERED BY THIS SERVICE?


          Sinusitis

          Head congestion, facial pain, pressure, and runny nose for over 7 days


          Sore throat

          Pain or scratching sensation in the throat, difficulty swallowing, and swollen glands


          Earache

          Sudden and severe earache accompanied by fever, hearing loss, or difficulty sleeping.


          Infected insect bites

          Red, swollen, painful, or hot bites from insects like mosquitoes, bees, or spiders.


          Impetigo

          Contagious skin infection with red, crusty sores, usually around the mouth or nose.


          Shingles

          Painful rash with blisters caused by the varicella-zoster virus, usually on one side of the body.


          Urinary Infections ("Cystitis")

          Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women: Burning pain during urination, frequent urination, and urgency to urinate.

          We offer a pregnancy testing service on-site with  results in minutes - less hassle, less worry. 

          You can also purchase  pregnancy testing kits over the counter. Our testd are 99% accurate and can tell you if you are pregnant upto four days before your first missed period.


      Prescription Collection/Delivery

          It's not always easy to order and collect your prescriptions/medicines. Why not join our repeat prescription service, we'll take care of that for you.

          We can prepare your prescription ready for collection and can even deliver for free the same day or next day to patients in and around bedford


          *As much as we would like to deliver to all that request this service, we do have some limitations. Help us to help you. 

          • This is a private service entirely funded by Lindleys Chemist.
          • Our drivers can not leave medicines unattended or put them through the letterbox. It has to be received by a person over 16 years old.
          • Although we take your preferences into account, we cannot always guarantee a specific day of the week or time of the day to deliver your medicines.
          • We do our best to deliver everyone's medicines in a timely manner, however please be ready to arrange an alternative method to get your medicines if Lindleys Chemist (in exceptional circumstances) fails to deliver your medicines in time.
          • If you are not at home at the time of delivery, our driver will leave a note for you to know we have been there. Please give us a call to arrange a new delivery. Our drivers will only try to deliver your bag of medicines twice.
          •  Please remember, if you are not age-exempt (over 60 or under 16 years old), you have the duty to inform us of any change regarding your exemption status.

      Vitamin B12

          WHAT IS VITAMIN B12?

          Vitamin B12 helps your body make healthy red blood cells and supports normal nerve function. Low B12 levels can sometimes contribute to symptoms such as tiredness, weakness, pins and needles or problems with concentration. nhs.uk


          WHO MAY NEED VITAMIN B12?

          Vitamin B12 deficiency can have a number of causes, including diet, reduced absorption and certain medicines. The pharmacist will check whether a B12 injection is appropriate for you and advise if further assessment or blood tests are needed. nhs.uk


          HOW IS IT GIVEN?

          Vitamin B12 is usually given as an injection into a muscle. In the UK, hydroxocobalamin is commonly used for B12 deficiency. nhs.uk


          HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED IT?

          This depends on why your B12 level is low and your individual needs. Some people require an initial course followed by less frequent injections, while others may need longer-term treatment. Your pharmacist will advise you on the appropriate schedule. nhs.uk


          WHEN MIGHT I NOTICE A DIFFERENCE?

          Hydroxocobalamin starts working straight away, but improvement in symptoms may take several days or weeks. nhs.uk


          IS IT SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE?

          Not necessarily. The pharmacist will assess your suitability before treatment and may recommend that you speak to your GP or another healthcare professional where appropriate.

    Free NHS flu vaccinations are available for eligible groups, including:


    From 1 September 2026

    • Pregnant women
    • Eligible children (where this service is available)

    From 1 October 2026

    • Adults aged 65 and over
    • Adults aged 18–64 in clinical risk groups
    • Carers
    • People living in long-stay residential care
    • Eligible frontline health and social care workers

    Are there side effects? Like all vaccines, flu and COVID-19 vaccines can cause side effects. These are usually mild and short-lived.


    What if I have allergies? If you have questions about allergies or whether vaccination is suitable for you, please speak to our pharmacy team before booking.
